Sports cliche over. Still, I thought it applied. Last season, we went to Celtic Park and were treated to our worst-ever SPL defeat, 5-0. How did we respond? The four matches after that one were 2 wins, a draw, and a loss, so I’d say we responded pretty well. We dusted ourselves off and went back to work.
After this season’s record-tying loss at Ibrox (another 5-0), there were calls for massive change, and many, many calls for Craig Brewster’s head. But how did we respond? 2 wins, a draw, and a loss. Not perfect, but we didn’t roll backwards into the relegation spot the way many pundits thought we would. Instead, we raised ourselves from 11th on the day of the Ibrox debacle to 8th today. That’s the way a good team responds.
