Help Us, Filipe Morais. You’re our only hope.
By: Ian Rose | January 10th, 2009That may be overstating it a bit, but I am just giddy over the Portuguese newcomer’s debut for the Caley. A win. By the gods, a bloody win. Granted, it was over a second-tier side, and granted, as a Scottish Cup match, it does nothing solid for our survival efforts. But still, a convincing 3-0 win at home over Partick Thistle today marks the first win in I literally don’t know how long. I’m unwilling to check, because the actual timespan would depress me, and right now I’m enjoying the win and the hope in tomorrow.
That hope is brought to you by the letter F. Filipe Morais scored two of our three goals and was the sort of playmaker we have been sorely needing, always at the center of things. Congratulations also to Iain Vigurs, he of the constantly misspelled name, for his goal to close things out.
See how good that feels? You boys like that? A repeat next week against Hamilton (also hopefully soon to be a second-tier team) would feel even better, because it would count for something other than a few quid and another Cup match. Is that a light at the end of the tunnel, or is it just the First Division waiting for us 17 matches from now? Stay tuned.
