Butcher Era Begins Against Unnamed Opponent
By: Ian Rose | January 31st, 2009A team from down south is headed up to Inverness on Sunday – no one you’ve heard of. I have vague memories of green lads that hate blue lads (something to do with the pope or some such), but past that, it’s all a blur.
What really matters, though, is that this is the first match of the Terry Butcher era. May it be longer, and better, than the last few Terry Butcher eras at other clubs, which have been decidedly unimpressive. The Bloody One’s mission to save Caley from the drop begins Sunday against … oh yes, here it is … Cel-tic. Celtic. Huh. In addition to our first match with Terry at the helm, it will also be our first match with our two new signings, Richie Foran and Eric Odhiambo. Foran was a star for Motherwell during Butcher’s time there, and Odhiambo is 19 years old, so he can be forgiven for there not being a lot to say about him yet.
Good luck, lads. I’ll be watching, and praying to whatever god will grant me a decent result. Seriously, this soul is up for grabs, and if Buddha can give me a win, I’m with Buddha. If that pope of theirs can grant us a clean sheet (words barely uttered at Caledonian Stadium this season, at least at our end), then I’ll be all about the Jesus.
Mon the Caley.

We might have been more lenient if big John Hartson had been your coach, but Terry Butcher? You deserve a thrashing for that one…:D
