Terry Butcher to Take Over Caley
By: Ian Rose | January 27th, 2009Well, it’s official … almost … but either way, it’s going to happen. Terry Butcher, former England man and current Scotland assistant coach (That’s still so odd) is about to take over the reins at Caley Thistle. His record is questionable as a manager, but at this point, from the available choices, he’s not a terrible one. I would have preferred to have John Robertson back, but what can you do?
Good luck Terry. Keep us up.

Butcher has proven hit and miss in his managerial career. Like why the hell would anyone chose to go and manage in Australia?

Agreed, Colin. He’s had some definite ups and downs, and I’d say more downs than ups. But I have an innocent-until-proven-guilty approach with managers. Everyone starts at 100%. Mon the Caley.

Definitely a mistake, imho. He’s not got a good track record exactly, though if anyone can save them from relegation, he can. After that ..
