Stranded, with only Falkirk for Company
By: Ian Rose | January 17th, 2009
Only a penalty separated Caley from the Hamilton Accies today, but it was enough to make the gap between the two sides six points, and give Hamilton the season series, with only one meeting left this year. Falkirk put the fear into both us and their opponents Rangers when they took the lead at Ibrox, but a poor red card call and 3 goals later, it was business as usual in Glasgow.
We now stand 1 point behind Falkirk and 6 behind the tenth-placed Accies. It’s starting to look a lot like it’s us and the Bairns as the most likely relegation candidates. That’s a lot scarier than being up against Hamilton, because the Bairns are a very good team, right now better than us, and their early performance at Ibrox showed it. Filipe or no Filipe, we need points, and looking at the next month of fixtures, I’m not at all sure where we’re going to get them:
24 Jan : Away at Hearts
1 Feb : Home v. Celtic
14 Feb : Away v. Dundee United
On 21 Feb, we have a home meeting with Hibs, traditionally one of our most successful fixtures. But the way they’re playing (and the way we are) … I just don’t know.
16 matches left … but it feels like less.

Regards, didn’t realise that I wasn’t the only poor sod of an ICT fan blogging on the net. Good work.
